A Fitness Life-Changing Experience

Colleen has been an incredible part of the SWEAT440 community, attending over 1,000 classes with unwavering dedication. Her journey is truly inspiring, as she has had a remarkable fitness transformation, not only in terms of her physical health but also in terms of her confidence and outlook on life. You can watch her full testimonial here. Here’s what Colleen had to say about her experience:

Going to the gym can be so scary sometimes, especially when it’s a new atmosphere and a new type of workout.

When I try something new, I struggle with feeling foolish if I’m not doing it correctly or maybe not as well as other people in the gym, and I never felt that way here. When I first came, I didn’t even think I could hold a plank for more than 10 seconds, and I would tell the coaches that, and they would be very encouraging, and they would give me alternatives, and so like I didn’t even feel like it was foolish in any sense, I just felt like okay I’m gonna do these until I’m able to do the exercises that are on the screen so I think that’s why I kept coming back.

SWEAT440 has helped me in so many ways. Physically,  I feel probably the best I’ve felt in years. I’m a lot more confident in my physical body, but the biggest thing I’ve gotten from it is confidence in my everyday life.

So when you first come, it may seem daunting or like, oh my gosh, why do people come here voluntarily and do it for fun? But once you start seeing those little victories, it’s really inspiring, you’re going to want to come back, and then after you finish the workout you feel accomplished.

When I first started, I would say I came about three times a week. As I was getting stronger and really enjoying my time here, I started coming seven days a week. Then, once I was able to do seven days a week, I started by doing one round with an extra station and just building it up, and now I do doubles four times a week with one extra class that I just do a single so it’s five days a week but a more intense routine.

I don’t think people realize how big this place and these people have made a difference in my life. I’ve really seen a change in myself as well as everyone around me. Everyone’s a little scared to do something at first, but if you push yourself and get out of your comfort zone it’s gonna pay off, and you might find something like I did that’s going to change your life.
